aka. Die Nonne Von Monza This is a true story filmed according to the actual records of a Vatican lawsuit and set in authentic places. The fourth in the x-rated series of Nunploitation films offers a special dramatic experience for fans of this special genre. In the name of God the archiepiscopal tribunal in Milan on the 17th of October 1608 accuses the nun of Monza of having broken her vow of chastity and of misprision of felony of rape and murder in the monastery of Santa Margherita. Violated by a man and without any regard for the fact that she was a woman and a nun, she goes through a way of the cross [=a long ordeal]. Although she found understanding and help in the monastery, the Church nonetheless starts a lawsuit against her, beginning with torture and ending with her conviction. She is walled alive into the monastery, although by all common sense she is innocent. Based on real events during the 1600's in Spanish occupied Italy THE NUN OF MONZA is one of the first in a long line of Italian nunsploitation films. The convent isn't the holiest of places though and the nuns, led by the Mother Superior (Anne Heywood) begin to experience devilish tendencies which lead to rape, torture, blasphemous acts and death. Director : Eriprando Visconti. Cast : Laura Belli, Pier Paolo Capponi, Carla Gravina. Year : 1970. Screen : 4:3. Languages : German. Region : 2. Format : PAL.
